I first spoke with Jaime from a questionable service area on my way to a remote shoot in Vermont. I dropped the call once, and felt like I was oddly loud the rest of the time. The fact that Jaime was totally understanding made me love her right then and there!
When Keith and I were able to sit down with them at our favorite coffeeshop in Manchester NH, Cafe La Reine, we nearly forgot to talk about the wedding! Instead Derek told us about his life as a personal trainer and owner at Fitness Together in Beverly and a few laughs over his and Keith’s shared love for stupid movies (yup, female opinion!)
We were super excited at their venue, a hidden treasure in the White Mountains, The Mountain View Grand is nothing less than the name implies. Also unique is their choice to have only 6 guests, each set of parents plus Jaime’s brother and wife. It truly made for a perfectly intimate day. Jaime’s dad, Paul and I played the name game (my parents having lived in his hometown of Concord, MA), and Keith sharing his love for gluten free Snyders pretzels with Derek’s mom!
The rain threatened to turn this into an indoor ceremony, and we are super glad they chose to carry on as planned! A little fog and a bit of drizzle only created more privacy and reason to come together more tightly!
Diane doubled as officiant and front desk person at the Grand, and brought warmth and individuality to the union (oh, and a legal bond as well!) Then it was off for some misty pictures, which Derek and Jaime had no hesitation over and skies actually paused for us (briefly!)
What we especially love is Derek and Jaime’s ability to have fun in absolutely any situation and laugh no matter how much rain came down. This is a couple we wouldn’t mind being trapped in a blizzard with! Although Jaime and I may get a bit stir crazy after Derek and Keith recite every line from Dumb and Dumber at least twice!
Their celebration continued in the Grand’s private wine cellar dining area, a totally cool feature of the hotel, and another perk to having a small gathering!
This was where we bid them farewell…sort of. Keith and I squirreled away in the lobby for a jump start on editing their wedding photos (yeah, we were that excited over the pics!) and met back up after for some laughs after the family resurfaced from the cellar. This image was the first one we processed, and are completely in love with…a true representation of the couple’s beauty and their unique day!
