Kat and Joe came to Oahu from South Carolina by way of the Navy. Ever seen Hunt for Red October? You’re gonna LOVE this story then! Joe is a submariner working on a Virginia class submarine stationed out of Pearl Harbor.
Joe can disappear underwater for months at a time, and honestly it only seems to make his and Kat’s relationship stronger as their respect and appreciation for one another is palpable.
Joe’s one of those amazingly kind people that makes you feel like you’ve known him for your whole life. His first night back on land, he guided us for a private two-hour tour his sub, an unreal look into an existence with no daylight and cramped quarters, Keith was like a kid with big eyes and a never ending list of questions. What an incredible treat, and one we can’t really share with you, but SO wish we could’ve had cameras with us! Thanks again Joe!!
Kat works in an orthopedic office and will start PA school soon. She lusts for fried Oreos and acts as the house mom for the 4 housemate sub mariners living in the beach side rental they call home.
Kat and Joe have a kind of warm energy between them that makes you want to laugh and hug them at the same time. They are full of adventure from island hopping to Kauai, to hiking the Oahu ridges, and are new parents to howling adoptee Indy the chocolate lab mix.
They are lovers of life, crazy intelligent and entirely humble. And yes, they have a totally awesome dorky side as well!
We can’t wait for their Charleston South Carolina destination wedding. But it’s not exactly right around the corner…
As is typical in the military, everything revolves around a dictated schedule, so two years from their engagement is the first opportunity for the wedding of their dreams, at Alahambra Hall, a Southern-style New Year’s Eve destination.
Okay, we’ll wait patiently! But only because it gives us that much more opportunity to get to know this awesome pair. We anticipate a few beach days, Eat the Street festivals and nights out with them
