While planning her lake wedding, Ashley met us on the phone for a consult during one of our many wedding road trips and I’m pretty sure we forgot to talk about her wedding plans. Instead, we talked about living in Iowa, Field of Dreams, life with a toddler, and by the time we hung up it felt like we had just concluded a best friend catch up session!
It was many months later before meeting Frank, and it went the same, making (slightly inappropriate) jokes, uninhibited laughter and a sense of being friends for ages.
While we would love to think it’s a reflection of our likability, the reality is that Frank & Ashley are just these types of people who have a magnetic draw. Ashley’s sense of warmth, compassion and positivism, Frank’s love of life and making you feel like you’re the only one in the room. When together their lights shine with even more brilliance.
They met in Ashley’s home state of Maine and it wasn’t long before their undeniable attraction had Ashley moving to Ohio to be with Frank. And not long after that when Little Frankie entered the story!
After two years in Iowa for Frank’s work (he is in the outdoor sportsman industry), they have now moved to Denver, Colorado.
Frank traveled to Rangeley often for the gorgeous rural setting, abundance of wildlife and availability of amazing women. Just kidding, well sort of! Being near Ashley’s home, picking Loon Lodge for the wedding seemed like the perfect choice.
Surrounded by an intimate gathering of family and friends, mostly from Maine and Ohio, the party began under the tent, every detail speaking to Ashley and Frank’s character.
There’s something we should probably mention about these two…they are wild & goofy. Like, dive into the water in wedding clothes wild (yeah, it nearly happened), and rolling snort laughing goofy!
But for every ounce of silly, they have double that in love. The kind where grenades could go off during a slow dance and they wouldn’t even notice.
This left room for their friends to pick up where they left off, with a stolen iPhone, roaming selfie stick, a well visited hydration station and plenty of lawn game fun.
If there is one thing about Frank, it’s that there is never a dull moment, even if he isn’t directly involved!
It was an evening no one wanted to end, with the beauty of Maine continuing to elevate the celebration.
Thank you Frank and Ashley for inviting us into your family for such an amazing celebration. We are so grateful to have been there as photographers, but more so for your friendship.
Your totally infectious enthusiasm and love for life affects everything around you, and we can’t wait to be together again! Love you guys!!
