A scientist and a financier walk into a bar…no, really, they did. That’s where we had our first meeting with AJ and Michelle, at an Earth Day celebration in Portsmouth’s RedHook Brewery. We spent four hours chatting about their wedding plans and discussing Wagon Hill Farm engagement photos.
We spent nearly four hours laughing, posing for selfies with Ben Cohen of Ben & Jerry’s, eating free ice cream, having a pint (or two) and getting to know the outdoors-loving couple.
Together for years, they developed a deep friendship, sharing a passion for nature, dogs and and recreation. Michelle grew up in Maine and is an environmental scientist.
AJ grew up in Southern New Hampshire and works for a financial company by day then puts his adventure hat on and enjoys mountain biking, and exploring the White Mountains.
Their pups Morgan and Bella are down for any outdoor adventure and tagged along for our photo shoot gleefully eating the goldfish Michelle snagged from a convenient store in lieu of biscuits.
Although we planned to meet a day later for our engagement session, the weather looked ominous (and turned out to be torrential downpours). We’re incredible thankful these two dropped everything and mobilized within hours to catch this amazing Spring evening with fresh green grasses and setting sun.
In only a few weeks Michelle and AJ will be married in a field at Tumbledown Farm in Brookfield, NH with a barn reception. It couldn’t seem more fitting to their relaxed personalities and love for beautiful settings, and we couldn’t be happier that they chose us to be their wedding photographers!!
We will miss Morgan and Bella, but can’t wait for a rustic day full of love and happiness!
